OilSorb™ is a blend of anthracite and bentonite clay that has been impregnated with a quarternary amine. A granular, organically modified clay filtration/adsorption media designed for water treatment, the product removes mechanically emulsified oil and grease, free oil, and high-molecular-weight organic molecules. The product removes oil at 700 percent the rate of activated carbon. When used as a pre-treatment method, oil and grease is removed, allowing the activated carbon to remove soluble organic compounds more efficiently.
