AWWA ACE

EP at AWWA's ACE Next Week

AWWA ACE 11 June is one of my favorite months. The start of summer brings with it a palpable excitement, the promise of relaxed days and exciting nights. Even though I no longer get a summer vacation, I still love the feeling freedom that June evokes. For those in the water industry, June also marks the year’s most important event: The American Water Works Association’s Annual Convention and Expo, or AWWA ACE if you like acronyms (I do!).

Next week, water industry experts will descend on Washington, D.C., and I’ll be right there with them. I’ll be at the convention, looking for interesting stories to bring to you in the coming months, as well as exciting new products and trends that across the industry. Given what I’ve seen so far, it seems as if this is going to be the year for smart-metering. I’ll be there to find out whether these revolutionary meters, though, are actually worth their cost.

What are you interested in? After all, I’m not writing these stories for myself. Drop me a line at LauraWilliams@1105media.com and let me know what you’d like to hear about from the conference – maybe it’s not smart metering, but rather closed-loop wastewater systems – and I’ll check it out.

If you’re unable to make it out to D.C. next week, never fear! I’ll be tweeting (Follow EPonline on Twitter@EPonline) live from the conference, as well as posting pictures to our facebook page, so you won’t have to miss out on the cascade of news coming from the conference. And if you’re looking for a broader overview of the conference, in addition the bytes you get on Facebook and Twitter, you can sign up for our Water and Wastewater eNewsletter, which will feature all the expo’s the latest and greatest news. So if you’re stuck in another time zone or just hate the dreadfully humid D.C. summers, we’ll have a way for you to learn about what’s going on at AWWA’s ACE next week.
